Sustainability

Hmong Hilltribe Lodge recenlty partners with Dr. Vejsawan Lakat (Dr. Pao) from Green Road, Social Enterprise running Innovation of Recycle-Road to Reduce Plastic Wastes. Our goal is to establish a new plastic recycle center that turns plastic into brick blocks and many others. Our mission is to educate 5 villages in the district to understand the threat of climate change and what we all could do to help the world. They shall start from an easy thing like learning how to separate garbage properly to how to manage different kind of wastes properly.

We are building consciousness and we want to start with families, schools, the sahakorn (COOP). We also plan to develop an sustainability educational center for visitors from around the world. Kids can come and learn about the royal project and climate change.

We are the only business in this programme in this area. Hoping to change the way people view the environment and change the way they discard trash, the way they see plastic waste. Change is hard. We are trying to create an educational center for visitors from around the world. Kids will come and learn about this and also learn about the royal project and how it is the first of its kind in terms of replacing illegal drugs with winter crops and other crops.  Combined with our own 30 rai plantation where we grow vegetables and fruits and its organic. Macadamia, avocado, coffee, cabbages, lettuce.

At the resort, we start planning to use nightcrawlers (AKA earthworms) to turn organic wastes (bio trash) into the ‘Black Gold’ which is worm casting.  Their casting contains a great number of microorganisms that fertilize the soil and also aerate the soil. With this project, we with with Uncle Ree Farm, one of the most recognized organic farming model in Thailand.

Our next plan is to develop our own 30 rai plantation into organic farms where we grow vegetables and fruits. We currently have Macadamia, avocado, coffee, cabbages and lettuce which part of the production is used at the resort.

It is all started in March this year. Stay tuned.
